A presentation of the Electric Shaver Page.
The Electric Shaver Page is dedicated to the men responsible for the development of the electric shaver:
Col. Jacob Schick, who invented the electric shaver
in 1928. He then founded a company to manufacture and market his
invention.

Prof. Alexandre Horowitz who was working as an developmental engineer at N.V. Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken (now Royal Philips Electronics) in the Netherlands. With the encouragement of his boss Anton Philips and the boss' son Frederik Philips, Prof. Horowitz developed the Philishave rotary electric shaver, which was introduced in 1939 as a single head model. The more familiar two-headed model was developed during World War II and was introduced after the war. Needless to say, it was very successful. Click here for a profile of Prof. Horowitz.
